Introducing Prema HeartRight Low Fat Milk!

It’s been a busy month for Prema milk. We had some fun activity at the Prema farm recently with schools visiting to learn more about the entirely traceable process as well as meet Mini moo. We also launched our HeartRight Low Fat milk. It’s interesting to note that very few people know about the benefits of milk and how it is actually an energy drink.

One of the major requirements for growing teenagers and athletes is Protein for which the Average Daily Amount recommended is 0.4 grams / pound of body weight. However, it depends on the type of athlete you are.

Here’s a table that can help you figure out how much you need:

Recreational Exerciser, Adult 0.5-0.75 g/lb
Competitive Athlete 0.6-0.8 g/lb
Growing Teenage Athlete 0.9-1.0 g/lb
Adult Building Muscle Mass 0.7-1.0 g/lb
Athlete Restricting Calories 0.8-1.0 g/lb

You can also add some variety by adding some chocolate to your milk drink that can actually help boost recovery. Dr. John Ivy, lead researcher on the studies and chair of The University of Texas at Austin College of Education’s Department of Kinesiology and Health Education, Chocolate milk is an ideal post workout energy drink for athletes.

“On consuming low-fat chocolate milk rather than a carbohydrate sports drink or calorie-free beverage after riding a bike for 90 minutes at moderate intensity, then for 10 minutes of high intensity intervals, 10 trained cyclists had significantly more power and rode faster (reduced their ride time by an average of six minutes)”.
